About our Compassionate Support Hubs

Rennie Grove Peace’s Compassionate Support Hubs are drop-in sessions, in a local venue with a local partner. They provide a space where people affected by the diagnosis of a progressive life-limiting illness can drop in to meet others for a friendly chat, a drink, and a wellbeing activity. There are trained volunteers or staff members, who can offer an activity, information, guidance and signposting to available services.

There is no need to book, so please just come along.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with our Compassionate Communities team on 01923 33 03 30 or get in touch via our enquiry form

Where is this service available?

Our catchment area spans Bucks and West Herts.

We launched our Compassionate Support Hubs in and around Watford but are working quickly to expand across the whole area. We currently have Hubs in:

  • Wyllyotts Centre (Wyllyotts Place, Potters Bar, EN6 2HZ). 2nd Thursday, 10am-12pm.
  • Your Community Hub (5 Leeming Road, Borehamwood, WD6 4EB). 1st Tuesday, 10:30 – 11:30am.

On the 11th April at the Potters Bar Hub, we will have a talk from Hertfordshire Libraries about Family Ancestry and how you can start with your family tree.

More Compassionate Support Hubs are coming soon; if you would like to work in partnership with us in setting one up, please get in touch with our Compassionate Communities team on 01923 330330 or click here for our enquiry form.

By:

  • offering a safe and welcoming space for people to come together
  • offering friendship, emotional support and a listening ear
  • helping people connect with their local community
  • providing a wellbeing activity, information, guidance and signposting to available services.

A volunteer-led service, tailored to what is needed in the local community.

Like all Rennie Grove Peace services, our Compassionate Support Hubs in Bucks and West Herts are offered free of charge (some costs for refreshments). We can only deliver the services thanks to the generosity of the local community and the volunteers involved.
