The concert, conducted by James Murray, begins and ends with adventurous music from the 1770s - the surprisingly dramatic overture to Haydn's comic marionette opera 'Die Feuersbrunst' and CPE Bach's vivid Symphony in D.  Between them, Mozart's much-loved clarinet concerto featuring the orchestra's own Richard Stockall is followed by Arthur Honegger's 1920 'Pastorale d'été' transporting us to a summer dawn in the Swiss Alps.
