Let's Light up a Life together
We’re inviting you, your family and friends to join us at one of our two services in Bucks and west Herts to light a candle in memory and to celebrate the life of a loved one. Rennie Grove’s Light up a Life services are a wonderful and uplifting way to come together with your friends and family to remember someone special. We’re pleased to welcome Rennie Grove supporters and the wider community as well.
Sponsor a Light
You’ll receive a beautiful Light up a Life card by post when you sponsor a light in memory of a loved one. Your card will include a silver star with space for you to write the name of your loved one. You could hang it on your own Christmas tree, or send it on to a friend or family member.
To sponsor a light, please email us on email@example.com
and we can pop a form in the post to you.
Join us at a Light up a Life Service
This year, we plan to hold two services in our community – one in Bucks and one in west Herts. It feels more important than ever that we can come together and remember loved ones after the challenges of the last two years. However, it’s still hard to plan ahead with complete confidence as the coronavirus situation continues to change.
Please keep an eye on our website and social media for any updates in case we have to adapt or cancel the services.
Princes Risborough Sunday 28 November, 4pm, Duke Street Gardens (near Tesco)
Organised on behalf of the local community and Rennie Grove Hospice Care by the Rotary Club of Princes Risborough, the Tree of Light service is an outdoor event which offers an opportunity to pay tribute to those who mean so much to us. The service includes readings, poems and carols and culminates in switching on the lights. For more information, please visit rcpr.org.uk
If you sponsor a light and leave a message in memory of your loved one on a Rotary dedication form, it will appear on the dedication boards displayed close to the Tree of Light. If you’ve sponsored a light through us, plan to attend the Princes Risborough service and would like your message to be displayed on the boards by the tree, you can contact David Griggs directly on 01844 345554 to request this. Or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll arrange it for you.
Grove House Sunday 28 November,
4pm, Waverley Road, St Albans
We’re delighted to welcome you back to our non-denominational service indoors at the newly refurbished Grove House. The service will include readings, music, poems, a moment for reflection and the switching on of the tree lights. As this is an indoor event, we ask that you show a negative lateral flow test on arrival.
We’ll be recording the service and making it available for those who are unable to attend to watch on our website from Sunday 5 December.
If you’d like the name of your loved one displayed on screen in the recorded service, please email email@example.com.
Watch our Grove House Service
If you are not able to attend either of our services, you can still experience a Light Up a Life service by watching the Grove House service online. Order one of our special Light up a Life packs which has everything you need to join in at home. It has the order of service, a candle to light in memory, a star to write your special message on and a Light up a Life card to keep or send on. If you’d like to receive a pack, please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also request additional candles.
The recorded service will be available on our website from Sunday 5 December until the end of the month on this page.
