Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving LOGO

Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn) is an easy and tax free way to donate regularly to your chosen charity directly through your salary.

The government adds the tax as an extra donation, meaning your contribution will be even bigger at no further cost to you. It’s a really flexible system that allows you to donate as much or as little as you would like, and provides Rennie Grove Hospice Care with consistent and regular support, enabling us to plan for the future.

Any amount, big or small will help make a difference – you can help make every moment count.

How does it work?

How can I take part (as an employee)?

As an employee, you can contact your payroll department who will be able to advise if they have enrolled with a payroll giving provider.

If they do not offer payroll giving, you could ask for them to do so by directing them to this website or to make contact with the corporate team to find out how.

Alternatively, you can sign up to Become a Friend of Rennie Grove making a regular donation via direct debit. Unfortunately, you won't receive the tax benefits of donating through this means but you will still be making a difference to local patients at end of life.

How can I take part (as an employer)?

Setting up a payroll giving scheme at work is an easy and tax efficient way to encourage staff to give a regular gift to through their salary. If you wish to find out more about how to set up a payroll giving scheme get in touch and we will guide you through the process.

What are the benefits of payroll giving?

  • Donations are deducted from salaries before tax, making it a tax-efficient way to give
  • It’s easy to set up and any administration costs are tax deductible.
  • Donations can be counted as part of an employer’s Charity of the Year targets
  • Employers can use the government’s Payroll Giving Quality Mark (and may qualify for a Quality Award Mark if you promote your scheme)
  • It could help companies to win other national awards, such as the National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards or the Pay and Benefits Awards.
