Rudolph Run returns to St Albans

Time to don the antlers, shake off any seasonal stiffness and get ready for Rennie Grove’s annual Rudolf Run.

Starting from St Albans’ Waterend Barn pub on December 4, the festive fun run offers the chance to combine an early Christmas sporting celebration with raising funds for our specialist care and support for adults and children with life limiting illnesses.

Run, walk or even scoot one of two courses around the city’s streets – 1.5km and 5km, depending on how fit you’re feeling. The choice of festive attire is yours.

Gemma Ralph, Rennie Grove Hospice Care’s community fund raising manager said: “We are delighted to be bringing this popular fund raising event back to the streets of St Albans this December.

“We’ll once again be giving all participants a pair of reindeer antlers to really get into the festive spirit. Get together your family and friends and sign up today for a fun way to kick off the Christmas season while raising money to support vital care for people in your community.”

The event, which has been running for over 12 years, sees many runners return year-after-year. One of those is Rosa Johnson from St Albans who has taken part for the past ten years. She says: “I first started taking part with my mum before my daughter, Olive, was born. Olive has been coming along since she was in a pushchair! Now she runs with us and we get a big group of friends and family together for the event.

“It has become a lovely tradition and for us marks the beginning of the festive period. We always put our Christmas tree up after the run so it’s a great family day.”

Advance tickets costs £6 per child and £10 per adult. You can find out more or to register for this year’s event, here.
