We offer six-week courses of either Yoga or Tai Chi which provide gentle exercise to help boost your well-being. The aim of each course is to help you relax, learn techniques to practice at home and develop coping strategies.
Who can come?
If you have been diagnosed with cancer or another life-limiting illness, live within Rennie Grove’s catchment area and feel you would benefit from yoga or tai chi, you are more than welcome at one of our courses.
How do I get referred?
If you are already known to Rennie Grove, you can be referred by a member of staff.
If you are new to Rennie Grove, you can request a referral to Grove House Day Services from any healthcare professional involved in your care, including your GP. Referral guidance for health care professionals can be found on our website here.
Alternatively, can you self-refer by phoning us on 01727 731013, emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or coming along to one of our Drop-in Sessions, which run Tuesday-Friday 9am-4pm, when a nurse can advise you and do an initial assessment. When self referring, it is helpful if you can provide the name of your GP practice and your preferred contact number.
What will happen when I get there?
In addition to the guided exercise, refreshments are provided and you will have an opportunity to chat with the other participants.
When and where are Yoga and Tai Chi Courses held?
Both courses run at least three times throughout the year at Grove House, which is located next to St Albans City Hospital.
What does it cost?
All Rennie Grove services are provided at no cost to the patient or their family. If you would like to make a donation to support our work, please go to renniegrove.org/donate.
