London Bridges Walk 2023

As part of coming together with Peace Hospice Care, we are inviting local people to take on the charity’s annual London Bridges Walk – a family-friendly day out that takes in some of the capital’s most iconic bridges and landmarks.

With two different routes – one five miles long and the other ten miles – there is an option for all abilities. Walkers are encouraged to bring not only their relatives and friends, but their canine companions too.

Taking place on Sunday 26 March, the two routes begin at the beautiful Peace Pagoda in Battersea Park. The five-mile route then takes in five famous London bridges, ending at Parliament Square. The longer ten-mile route takes in no fewer than 12 bridges, ending with arguably the most recognisable one of all – Tower Bridge.

All participants will be awarded a medal on completion, as a keepsake from the day and a reminder of what they have achieved.

The money raised through entry fees and sponsorship will be used to fund vital care and support for adults and children with life-limiting illnesses in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.

Husband and wife, Graham and Linda, have signed up for this year’s walk after completing it in the past. They said:

“Our main reason for taking part is to raise money for the hospice, but the attraction of this event is being able to walk through some picturesque and interesting areas of London.

“If you are thinking of doing the walk don’t be put off by the distance; the miles go by quickly as you take in the views!”

Tracey Hancock, Director of Fundraising at Rennie Grove, says:

“We’re delighted to be able to offer our supporters even more fundraising events to take part in. The London Bridges Walk is a fantastic family day out. You walk at your own pace so there is time to stop for a coffee or buy lunch along the route if you like.

“We even provide a booklet containing facts about all the bridges and landmarks you pass along the route, so you might just learn something new about the capital while raising money to fund our vital services for local people living with life-limiting illnesses.”

Tickets cost £18 for adults and £10 for children (under 5s are free). To find out more or book your tickets, visit renniegrovepeace.org/london-bridges-walk.
