Meet our trustees
Rennie Grove’s trustees are volunteers responsible for the charity’s governance
Who are our trustees?
Our Board of Trustees comprises specialists in different sectors, from healthcare to marketing to business development and retail. They offer advice and approve big decisions such as our annual expenditure and income targets. Similarly, Trustees contribute to our three-year strategic plan.

Professor Stephen Spiro
Chair of Trustees
Stephen is a respiratory physician and recently retired from being Head of Respiratory Medicine at UCH. He was also at the Royal Brompton Hospital from 1977-1994.

Jane MacLeod
Company Secretary
Jane qualified as a solicitor in 1985 and has significant experience both in private practice and in-house. Jane joined the Board of Rennie Grove Hospice Care on 1 August 2013, is a member of the Finance, Risk and Operations Committee and is also Company Secretary.

Dr Alie Wainwright
Trustee
Alie has been a G.P. at Rothschild House in Tring for the past 25 years and can recall the early days of the charity when it was a small fledgling organisation with a revolutionary way of caring for the terminally ill.

Chris Inman OBE
Vice Chair of Trustees
Chris is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant with over 25 years’ experience in the Retail Fashion Industry. He has recently retired from the Board of the British Fashion Council after 9 years as Non-Executive Treasurer and was awarded an OBE in 2012 for services to the British Fashion Industry.

Pippa Nightingale MBE
Trustee
Pippa is Chief Nurse and Director of Midwifery based at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, she is also a CQC specialist advisor.

Lesley Baillie
Trustee
Lesley is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at the Open University, with experience of nursing, research and nursing education at universities and with the NHS in London and Bucks.

Eric Pillinger
Trustee
Eric originally qualified as an accountant and an economist, with experience in production management, distribution management, IT and business consultancy. Having led the management buyout of TACK International Ltd, he has part-retired and has held trustee roles with DENS (charity for the homeless), The Pepper Foundation (hospice at home for children), and Tring Park School for the Performing Arts.

John Wroe
Treasurer
John is a Chartered Accountant. In a twenty-five year executive career at BT Group plc, which ended in May 2017, he held a number of senior finance roles including Group Director Treasury and Group Financial Controller. He is a trustee of the BT Pension Scheme.

Guy Upward
Trustee
Guy is a professional charity Fundraiser and has been working in the sector for over 14 years, with experience of various charities, including Oxfam and Livability. He is currently the Assistant Director of Fundraising at The Royal British Legion, with a team of over 50 people and gross income of over £50 million. Prior to working with charities, Guy worked at a number of marketing agencies in London.

Martin Ferguson
Trustee
For the last twenty years, Martin has had a leading role in the digital transformation of public services in the UK. He is currently Director of Policy & Research with Socitm – a professional association for digital leaders. His local government career spans planning, housing, leisure and recreation, IT and information services.

Steve Hamill
Trustee
Steve's 34 year career with Shell spanned software development, project management, consultancy, audit, business development, general management and global strategic relationship management. His voluntary roles have included technical support to the London Paralympics media team and Director of the St Albans International Organ Festival.
