New Year, New Ways to Support

Thanks to the kind support of volunteers, fundraisers and supporters, we were able to provide care for local people every day and night in 2020.

Shops closures and event cancellations meant that we had to look to supporters to step up and help out, and our kind network of supporters made it possible to continue caring for local people throughout a very difficult year.

In 2021, we're asking local people to join in once again and support hospice at home care by volunteering, donating and fundraising.

Our regular event schedule was adapted last year to allow fundraisers to take part in virtual runs, walking challenges and events. This year we'll have more opportunities for fundraisers to run, walk, cycle, swim and take on personal challenges to raise money for hospice at home care.

In January, we're asking fundraisers to start something new or give something up. You can take on a challenge to give something up after the indulgent Christmas season, or set yourself a challenging task and raise funds.

Our Senior Challenge & Events Fundraiser Emily Elvin said: “We’ve had so many lovely supporters that have raised funds with creative individual challenges, like Bevan Clark, who cycled the length of the UK in memory of his friend, or Hannah Coote, who ran 71 lengths of a football pitch for each year of her nan’s life.”

“We can’t wait to see what excellent ideas our supporters come up with next.”

You can find more inspiration on how to take on an individual sponsored challenge at www.renniegrove.org/individualchallenges.

Another way you can help us is by joining as a volunteer. Volunteering Development Advisor Susan Lewis said: “Our volunteers really stepped up in 2020 to help out.

“At Rennie Grove, we’re always looking for different skillsets to help out across the whole organisation. For those that are furloughed or between jobs, don’t be afraid to enquire and tell us more about yourself. You might be just the person we’re looking for.”
